Get in the Contributing Zone
The Edwards Aquifer is made up of different zones, including the "contributing zone" – an area where rainwater and other sources "contribute" to the vital groundwater supply. Just like the contributing zone sustains the aquifer, you too can make a significant impact by "contributing". When you commit to donating, you can make a significant impact. Help us ensure the aquifer's long-term health.
Did You Know?
People who are age 70½ or older can contribute up to $108,000 from their IRA per year directly to a charity and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution. This is known as a qualified charitable distribution. Contact us if you are interested in contributing from your IRA account or send payments directly to the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy.
The Edwards Aquifer Conservancy also accepts checks, traveler’s checks, and money orders by mail. Please make contributions payable to the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy and mail them to the following address:

Leaving Your Legacy
Secure water for future generations
What is a bequest? A simple and common form of legacy giving, a bequest involves leaving a portion of your estate — whether cash, property, or investments — to charity in your will, in this case, the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy. Naming us as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account (like an IRA or 401(k)) is another way to leave a meaningful legacy.
In addition to cash or property, you can also leave your legacy through donating your groundwater rights or mineral rights.
Suggested Bequest Language
For an unrestricted gift that allows the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy to determine how to use the funds based on the most pressing needs, use the following language for your will and/or trust:
“I give to Edwards Aquifer Conservancy (Federal Tax ID: 47-1602215), a nonprofit corporation currently located at 900 E Quincy Street, San Antonio, TX 78215 _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”
To designate your provision for a particular purpose:
“I give to Edwards Aquifer Conservancy (Federal Tax ID: 47-1602215), a nonprofit corporation currently located at 900 E Quincy Street, San Antonio, TX 78215 _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for [state purpose]. If the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy determines that it is not possible (or prudent) to administer my gift as originally intended, the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above.”
